Arc’teryx Covert Hoody

I love this fleece! It’s a technically performing and versatile hooded fleece that you can wear both outdoors and for casual use. Mine is an invigorating fuschia, and gets lots of positive comments. The Covert is lightweight, but feels warmer than many bulkier fleeces. It’s made of wool-textured Polartec Thermal Pro sweater knit: inside it is soft and comfortable, yet outside it looks like a wool knit. The fabric is a very durable fleece, which is both breathable and quick drying.

It has a lovely fit: not too tight but with a feminine shape, and there is some gusseting under the arms so your movement is not restricted and you can raise your arms without raising the jacket and exposing your skin to the cold. The hood is snug and it fits over a helmet, too. The Covert is great as an external layer for cragging on mild days, or for wearing as a mid layer on colder ones. I also reach for it all the time to wear around the house and casually.

The front pockets are great for warming hands and stashing lightweight stuff, too. They are lined with mesh so they aren’t at all bulky and you can open them for extra venting. Arc’teryx always pay attention to detail, and the zips, pockets, hems and cuffs are well finished and add attractive detail to the fleece. Contrasting fabric lines the collar, cuffs and hem. Then, of course, there’s one of Arc’teryx’s characteristic welded zip pockets: great for stashing valuables or a ski pass.
